Time to put away the skis and bring out the summer gear – The yearly spring trek with Outmeals is getting closer!

Outmeals Spring Trek is a great place to meet new and old friends
It’s only two weeks ago since my weekends were still all about winter and chasing snow. The season finally was a skiing race in Norway, Skarverennet, which without a doubt was a worthy end of the winter. I left the race with a funny sunburn on my face causing a few raised eyebrows at my office, looking like I had still my beanie on with my white forehead and well, the rest of the face red, red like a crayfish. Now the trees and grass is becoming more and fuller green by the days and I’m eager to get this trekking season going!

Green, green and even more green leafs
The Outmeals spring trek is for me a yearly kick start for the trekking season! This is a great trek with a lot of social activities and good food besides the actual hike with a lot of fun people to share the experiences with.
It’s only a few weeks before I’m heading down to Åkulla and the beautiful trek and now it’s also time for me to start inventory my summer gear and make a packing list. Below you can read about what I will bring in my backpack during the daily treks.

The trek is basically going in loops from the starting point, allowing the participants to make shorter or longer loops depending on their different abilities and wishes. The night camp is at the starting point which means you don’t have to carry your tent and sleeping bag.
I’m so looking forward to this and I hope to see some of you there! If you have nog signed up yet, go to www.outmelas.se to get your spot or join my guided group by signing up here at Friluftsfrämjandet!

This year I will bring a BioLite CampStove with me. I which provides both the ability to prepare food and charge your electric devices at the same time. Super smart in a base camp 🙂
